Dear parent,
Updated government guidance
You will probably have seen my earlier email about changes to the guidance on the wearing of face coverings in schools. This is the most significant change coming into effect with step 3 of the roadmap this coming Monday. There are some other amendments but none which will significantly affect the day-to-day running of the school. When we have updated our risk assessment, this will be available on our website. All other measures such as regular hand washing or sanitising, our one-way system etc will remain in place for now. We will continue to keep the situation under review.
Well done to...
Well done to Will in Year 9 who has just gained his Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award and to Francesca in Year 8 who has been selected to play for the U13 Regional South netball team and who has also been nominated as the team's Captain. Francesca plays her first match after a long, enforced break, this weekend. Good luck to her!
Final assessments
Year 11 and 13 final assessments are well underway and just a reminder to those of you with a child involved in these that we need to be made aware of any mitigating circumstances which may have had an impact on your child's performance. The deadline to submit this information and also for students to raise any concerns about the evidence staff have selected is next Thursday, May 20th.
Sporting fixtures this week
It has been wonderful to see sporting fixtures starting to take place again, although rain and cricket are not a good mix! This week, the Year 10 cricket team had a great start to their season, winning their County League fixture against John Hampden Grammar School on Monday by 6 wickets. The Year 7 team also had an emphatic win, beating Burnham Grammar School by 97 runs in the County Cup. Well done to all those involved.
With best wishes for a relaxing weekend,
Annmarie McNaney
