RSPB National Youth Council
Well done to Freddie in Year 13 for his work with RSPB's Youth Council.
Through my role with the RSPB’s national Youth Council, with which I am involved with various projects to bring a youth voice to the organisation and increase youth engagement with the natural world, I have had the privilege to be part of a youth steering group for an exciting inter-organisational project for young people over the last year between the RSPB, WWF and National Trust, influencing its development and execution. The project, called Young Voices for Nature, is a part of the wider campaigns involved with David Attenborough’s landmark Wild Isles series, and brought young people together from across the country to learn about storytelling and filmmaking with regards to the natural world. The result is one collective film, ‘Our Beautiful Wild’, which is the culmination of months of hard work by hundreds of inspiring young people, and is our combined voice and messsge to other young people, decision makers, and our shared vision for the future. The film was finally released earlier this week after an online premiere event which I co-hosted, and is now available to watch online through the link below.

It’s been a fantastic and inspiring experience, and to my mind is incredibly reminiscent of the collective passion and power of young people to bring about change for our planet. I am also holding an in-person screening of the film this Saturday at 2pm at Chesham Climate Cafe at Chesham Town Hall, and it would be fantastic to see as many young people there as possible to be able to spread our message!
